Good morning CJR
As you are aware, we had a lot of issues with xxx's attendance and attitude last term. Her host family requested that she move to a new family as they felt she was making no effort to be part of their family and was only interested in staying out late with her friends. She has now moved to her third host family, who are saying the same thing!
The family I moved her to was for very specific reasons. It is a retired couple – they are from Singapore originally. The host mother is an ESOL language teacher for English and she speaks six languages, including Mandarin and Cantonese. She is the one person who seems to have got through to Leung Wai, and although Leung Wai tells me she is not happy there, she is behaving correctly for the first time in a long time. I also see her smiling more – she normally has a very disinterested look on her face!
Her attitude towards school, her host family and her attendance all need to improve dramatically. She is on a week by week trial at the current home and if they decide not to keep her, then that will be three families that have asked her to leave. I hope that she settles down and accepts that she has work to do to make the experience work for her.
