|中五冇左會考, Foothill / De Anza 照舊收!
About Foothill and De Anza's policy for 2011-12 regarding the admission of Hong Kong students who have completed the equivalent of Form 5.
Students Who Have Completed the Equivalent of Form 5
This policy is a response to the change over in Hong Kong to a six-year high school program and will be in effect at Foothill and De Anza for admission only into Fall Quarter 2011, Winter Quarter 2012 and Spring Quarter 2012. Beginning Fall Quarter 2012, applicants coming from the Hong Kong system will need to have completed a six-year degree.
For the 2011-12 academic year only, Foothill and De Anza will admit students coming from Hong Kong who have completed the course work equivalent to Form 5 with average or better results. Admissions decisions will be based upon school transcripts and an iBT TOEFL of at least 61, an IELTS of at least 6.0, or an iTEP of at least 4.0.
We have been told by the California State University and University of California systems that students transferring from Foothill and De Anza without the HKCEE will be admissible as long as they have completed all of the university's admissions requirements while on our campuses. We're uncertain about other universities and recommend that students check for themselves if they are targeting specific places for transfer outside of California.
