EvCC's nursing program has been preparing students to be registered nurses since 1950. We're proud to report that 100 percent of our grads seeking work found jobs within six months. Graduates of our accredited program receive an Associates in Arts and Sciences in Nursing degree. The program prepares nurses to go on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, if they choose.

The Profession of Nursing requires practice that is based on nursing as an art and a science. Thus your nursing education at Everett Community College involves a high level of both academic and interpersonal qualities. Compassion, caring, critical thinking and collaboration, communication, cognitive ability, and professional and ethic conduct are requisite to a successful nursing education and career.

We will guarantee a place for international students who have completed all the prerequisite requirements at Everett Community College for the Registered Nursing program with a 3.2 gpa.

"yes, we have very strong and competitive nursing program at Highline.

International students are eligible to enter the program once they complete the pre-requisites (1 year). Registered Nurse Program at Highline is 3 years (1 year pre-requisite programs+2 year RN program).

Our program is so competitive so students must get close to 4.0 to enter the program. However, if the students are planning to transfer to the 4 year university in Nursing, it would be a little bit easier to get in. To transfer to 4 year university, I don't think there is any nursing exam but depending on the University they may impose students to do English proficiency exam such as TOEFL. "

"Our two-year technical Nursing (RN) program is extremely popular, and so has a very structured admission process. In order to meet requirements for the Nursing program, students must do the following:

• Apply for general admission to Seattle Central Community College through our office (LINK).
• Achieve college-level proficiency in English.
• Complete all pre-requisite courses for the program (see the Nursing website for a complete list of these pre-requisites: LINK).

It takes approximately 2-3 quarters of study at college level to complete all pre-requisite courses. Please also note:

• The program only starts new students in Fall Quarter of each year -- it is not possible to start in other quarters.
• The program accepts new applicants January through March each year, for students starting the following Fall (for example, students who are accepted between January, 2010 and March, 2010, may start the program in Fall, 2010).
• It is a very popular program, so there will be many students trying to get in.

Another possibility: since it may be some time before students can join our technical program in Nursing, they might consider working toward a two-year Associate transfer degree, with the goal of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). They would study two years, then transfer for an additional two years to a university which offers Nursing (there are many throughout the US). The licensing would be the same, but a Bachelor's degree would allow them to advance more in their career over the long term. "
